Design Clarity Session

Most projects begin with a Design Clarity Session.
This initial in-home consultation allows me to explore your home, discuss possibilities and determine the appropriate next stage for your project.
During this session we explore spatial challenges, discuss possibilities and establish a clear understanding of the project’s priorities and direction.

Following the session, I will outline the recommended design phase and prepare a proposal, should you wish to proceed.

This stage allows decisions to be approached thoughtfully before committing to design development.

Stage 02: Develop the Direction

Spatial Design

This stage establishes the overarching direction for the project, translating early discussions into a clear and cohesive design response.

Spatial planning is explored in depth to ensure layout decisions support both daily living and long-term intention. Materiality, tone, and architectural detailing are considered carefully, forming a unified framework before detailed documentation begins.

This phase typically includes:

Stage 03: Refine & Document

Detailed Design & Documentation

A comprehensive design phase for residential renovations requiring thoughtful development and construction-ready documentation.
At this stage, every decision is determined before works commence, ensuring the build proceeds with confidence and precision.

This phase typically includes:

  • Spatial refinement and detailed planning

  • Custom cabinetry design

  • Material and finish schedules

  • Fixtures and fittings specification

  • Construction documentation suitable for tender and build

  • Tender coordination

  • Strategic site consultations to protect design intent

The result is a thoroughly considered design, documented with care, and ready for implementation.

 
 

Stage 04: Protect the Vision

Creative Direction During Construction

Once construction begins, strategic involvement ensures the integrity of the design is maintained.
While the registered builder oversees delivery and compliance, I remain engaged at key stages to clarify intent, review critical details, and support informed decision-making as the project unfolds.

This stage may include:

  • Scheduled site visits at pivotal milestones

  • Review of cabinetry and material implementation

  • Clarification of design documentation as required

  • Guidance on site-based selections or refinements

  • Collaboration with builder and trades to maintain design coherence

The focus remains on safeguarding the original vision; ensuring the finished outcome reflects the considered direction established earlier in the process.
